These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FamilyTable (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1) Who operates the Service

FamilyTable is a personal project operated by an individual based in the United Arab Emirates.

2) Eligibility

You must be able to form a legally binding agreement where you live. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use the Service only with involvement of a parent or guardian.

3) Accounts and Google Sign-In

  • You sign in using Google.
  • You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the Service or other users.

4) Your content

The Service allows you to store content such as recipes, notes, and photos ("User Content").

  • You own your User Content.
  • You grant FamilyTable a limited license to host, store, reproduce, and display your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service (for example, to display your recipes back to you, to back them up, and to sync them across devices).
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to upload your User Content and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

5) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for illegal activities
  • Upload malware or attempt to disrupt the Service
  • Attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others
  • Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights or violates privacy rights

We can remove content or restrict access if needed to enforce these Terms or protect the Service.

6) Food, allergies, and safety disclaimer

Recipes and cooking guidance are provided "as-is." You are responsible for:

  • Checking ingredients for allergens and dietary restrictions
  • Following food safety practices (storage, cooking temperatures, hygiene)
  • Using your judgment with knives, heat, appliances, and any equipment

FamilyTable is not responsible for outcomes related to cooking, food preparation, allergies, or dietary decisions.

7) Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (for example, Google for authentication and hosting providers). Their services are governed by their own terms and policies. FamilyTable is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

8) Availability and changes

  • The Service is provided on a best-effort basis and may be unavailable at times.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.
  • Features may change as this is an evolving hobby project.

9) Termination

  • You can stop using the Service at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use creates risk or legal exposure.

10) Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not make warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, reliability, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • FamilyTable will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
  • FamilyTable's total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed USD 9.99.

12) Indemnity

If your use of the Service or your User Content causes legal claims against FamilyTable, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless to the extent permitted by law.

13) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date and post the latest version on our website. Continued use of the Service after updates means you accept the updated Terms.
